What Hair loss Products Actually Work?

The health of your scalp is extremely important to have healthy hair, so that’s why we’re going to talk about this first culprit of hair loss. Which is dandruff.

Don’t freak out yet, I will explain! Although this may be surprising, dandruff doesn’t necessarily cause hair loss, but if left untreated, constant scratching can cause damage to your hair follicles. But let’s look at this check off list to see if this may just be dry scalp.

seborrheic dermatitis

Now if you’ve established this may just not be dry scalp. Let’s learn more about seborrheic dermatitis.

It is an inflammatory condition that occurs in oil-producing glands, whether it’s on our scalp or anywhere else on our bodies. Dandruff, which also goes by seborrheic dermatitis and is a mild version of it, and it is only restricted to the scalp area.

So what causes this is a fungus called Malassezia, which lives on all human and animal skin. People with dandruff tend to have too much of this fungus. Which means their scalp’s microbiome is out of balance. It feeds off of sebum (oils) our scalp produces. So you can imagine someone with an overproduction of oils or a weekly hair washer.

So this seemingly dry scalp is actually pretty.. Oily. And the flakes are actually a reaction of your body fighting back.

Scalp Treatment

Now to treat this you will need antifungal agents; medications, and steroids, depending on severity. I used a medicated shampoo called Nizoral.#ad Which is very highly rated and a dermatologist recommended hair growth product, that contains the ingredients to fight the fungus.

Product Build Up

So build up doesn’t cause hair loss but can actually stunt growth. Again, scalp health is vital! I would think of it as the same way you take care of your face.. You will get the same results. That said, I have a bi-weekly detox for my scalp since I don’t use much product. If you're a product junkie I’d recommend a weekly scalp detox.

In shower I start off with a scalp scrub called Aromatica #ad BEFORE washing. This scrub will exfoliate your scalp allowing for new healthy growth, and stimulating blood circulation at the same time, because I love a two-in-one kind of product!

Then I’ll wash my hair with a regular shampoo then followed by a second wash with Kenra Clarifying Shampoo. #ad This will remove deposits and product buildup on your freshly exfoliated scalp.

Additional Tips: To avoid breakage. Do not run a brush over soaking wet hair and also drying your hair you will benefit from using a gentle microfiber towel.

Here are my results from my regimen, baby hairs is coming in fast!
